Come 9th of June, Lenovo is expected to unveil new Motorola phones, but could there be more to these phones than being mere upgrades to last year’s flagships? Thanks to a recent tweet by Motorola, it seems that the company has teased us with what’s to come, which according to them will transform mobile.

According to the tweet, “From brick, to flip, to snap. Snapping is the new flipping. Watch Moto transform mobile, again, June 9.” It’s an interesting choice of words, words that were no doubt carefully chosen. While we can’t say with certainty what they mean, recently leaked photos have revealed that the upcoming Motorola phones will sport modular/snap-on accessories called MotoMods, which might explain Motorola’s choice to use the term “snap”.

We also have to wonder if there could be some allusion to the Motorola RAZR. These accessories are expected to be connected to the back of the new Motorola phones via a special dock connector. Right now one of the accessories that we’re sure about would be a camera add-on that comes with its own lens, flash unit, and dedicated shutter release, but the other accessories are more or less speculative right now.

In any case details will be revealed on the 9th of June, so check back with us then for more updates.
