overwatch open betaSometimes developers like to give gamers perks for pre-ordering their games. The idea is to lock in as many players to sales of the game as early as possible, and one of the perks that Blizzard has offered to Overwatch gamers is early access to the game’s open beta if they were to pre-order the game ahead of its release.

The good news is that if you did pre-order the game, you will be pleased to learn that the open beta is now live. Note that this early access is only for those who pre-ordered the game. Early access kicked off on the 2nd of May at 4pm PDT which means that as we speak, it is now open and available.

However if you did not pre-order the game and are still considering whether or not you should, don’t worry because the game’s open beta will go live on the 4th of May at 4pm PDT for you guys. Early access basically grants you a 2 day head start compared to other players, but if you’re not too fussed then we guess it doesn’t really matter.

That being said, the open beta will last until the 9th of May 10am PDT, so basically early access gives you more time to play it. Overwatch will be released on the 24th of May across multiple platforms including the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC. Unfortunately there are no plans to bring the game onto Apple’s OS X platform for now.
