Earlier today we reported that Samsung had teased that they would be launching a Batman-themed Galaxy S7 Edge handset, and we were wondering when it would be announced. Turns out that we didn’t have to wait too long because Samsung has since made it official in a press release.

According to Samsung, this phone has been designed together with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Like we said in our previous post, this phone seems to have to do more with the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game than the Batman V Superman movie, which Samsung has confirmed.

The press release reads, “To commemorate the third anniversary of the popular mobile game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, the companies came together to bring Samsung’s technology and one of the game’s central characters, Batman, in a sleek, high-performance smartphone.” Just in case you didn’t know, Injustice: Gods Among Us isn’t just a mobile game.

It is available on multiple platforms and is also available in comic book format for those who are more interested in the story and less on the gameplay itself. According to Samsung, the bundle will come with “a Gear VR (in select territories), along with Injustice game credit and Oculus VR content vouchers,” although this will vary from market to market.

No word on pricing but it is expected to be released early June in markets such as China, Singapore, Korea, Latin America, Russia. In the meantime you can watch the official unboxing in the video above.
