blackberry-priv-review_ubergizmo_05We know that BlackBerry is working on new handsets and that they are expected to be launched later this year, but the question is when? Prior to this, a certain BlackBerry Hamburg was spotted online but we still did not know when the phone could be announced, or at least until now where we might have a clue as to when.

According to a report from MobileSyrup, it seems that BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen might have hinted at the handset’s announcement in July during the company’s Q1 2017 results. When asked during the earnings call for details about the phones, Chen declined to answer but did state that he was thinking of making an announcement in July.

According to Chen, “I’m not really prepared to unveil that. I guess, I was thinking about doing that more in July timeframe. I have spoken about having two of them in between now and the end of this fiscal year, and they usually they both of them more in the mid range and mid to high, not going to be a high end phone.”

This is obviously not a 100% guarantee as Chen could simply be tossing out ideas, but we suppose we can still look forward to July all the same in hopes that BlackBerry will have something new to share with us then.
