HTC ThunderboltIn recent times there have been rumors that HTC has a device called the “Bolt” in the works. It is unclear as to what it was as it does sound like it could be for a proprietary fast-charging technology, although some speculated that it could be a more modern day take on the HTC Thunderbolt that was introduced in 2011.

That being said, it has now been revealed that the handset in question will be headed for Sprint. This is according to a tweet by Evan Blass, and given his reputation and “score” for getting the rumors right, there could be some truth to his claims. Unfortunately apart from it being a CDMA handset since it is destined for Sprint, we pretty much know nothing about the handset.

Apart from its name, there have been almost no word on what kind of specs it will be packing under the hood. However the rumors have suggested that the HTC Bolt could be the company’s next flagship, so we’re guessing we’ll be able to expect high-end hardware, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (or even 821) with 3-4GB of RAM, and while this is speculation, it is also more or less the standard specs for flagships in 2016.

In any case take it with a grain of salt, but with the rumors suggesting an October launch, we guess we won’t have to wait much longer to learn about it.
