oneplus-2-review-15The OnePlus 3 was launched earlier this year with brand new hardware and features, with one of those features being VoLTE. Unfortunately for those with older OnePlus handsets like the OnePlus 2, VoLTE is currently not supported, although the good news is that OnePlus will be remedying that situation soon.

In a post on the OnePlus forums, the company has confirmed that they will be adding VoLTE support to the OnePlus 2 via an update that will be arriving next quarter. The announcement reads, “We are also working towards enabling VoLTE support on our previous flagship device through an OTA update scheduled to roll out to all OnePlus 2 users in the next quarter.”

According to OnePlus, “In line with rolling out new products, services and features for the holiday season, we have one more good news to share with our fans, and that is about VoLTE support on our flagship devices. We’ve been keeping a close eye on forum discussions and noted the requests to enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE) or HD calling support on OnePlus smartphones.”

No specific dates have been mentioned so we guess OnePlus 2 users will have to wait for it, but either way if OnePlus can deliver the update in time, we guess you should be able to expect it before the end of the year.
