Given how old the OnePlus 2 is in terms of Android phones, there is a good chance that it will not be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. However the good news is that if you are a OnePlus 2 owner who has been looking forward to the update, there is an alternative which comes in the form of LineageOS 15.
There is some bad news today for OnePlus 2 owners who had been hoping to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The company has now confirmed that there’s not going to be a OnePlus 2 Nougat update release even though it has previously promised the exact same thing. The release has been ruled out despite the fact that Android devices are covered for major updates for two years and that […]
As far as OnePlus handsets are concerned, the OnePlus 3 and 3T were on the receiving end of the Android 7.0 Nougat update back in December 2016. This means that the original OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2, and the OnePlus X are the only handsets that do not have the Nougat update.
A few weeks ago, we learnt that the OxygenOS 3.5.5 for the OnePlus 2 was causing network drops for some users. If you have been afflicted by the problem, the good news is that it looks like a new update has been pushed out that seems to have corrected whatever the problem might have been.
Earlier today we reported that OnePlus had pushed out the OxygenOS 3.5.5 update to the OnePlus 2 handset, bringing about support for VoLTE to the device. However if you have yet to update to the latest version of OxygenOS, maybe you might want to skip this update because it seems that quite a few users are reporting network drops following the update.
Despite VoLTE not necessarily being new technology, there are still handsets out there that do not support the service. One of those handsets is OnePlus 2 in which VoLTE support has been missing from the phone. However if you recall, OnePlus did promise that support for the feature will be arriving soon, and sure enough it has.
The OnePlus 3 was launched earlier this year with brand new hardware and features, with one of those features being VoLTE. Unfortunately for those with older OnePlus handsets like the OnePlus 2, VoLTE is currently not supported, although the good news is that OnePlus will be remedying that situation soon.
The OnePlus 2 was the second “flagship killer” handset that OnePlus released. It was meant to have specifications that were equal to those of flagships from other manufacturers. That may be true but it didn’t receive the latest Android update as quickly as some of them did. OnePlus has only just sent out the OnePlus 2 Marshmallow update.
OnePlus hasn’t always made it easy for people to buy its smartphones. For years, it has stuck to a cumbersome invite-only system after its smartphones are released. Many of its customers would certainly want the system to be done away with, and while it looks like OnePlus will finally drop it for future releases, the company will make it easier still to purchase its existing handsets. OnePlus is going to […]
It is now close to two months since the Marshmallow-based OxygenOS 3.0 beta for the OnePlus 2 has been released, and we are pleased as punch that the story does not end there. In fact, OnePlus has just made available yet another beta community build which is known as OxygenOS 3.0.1, where it is not available via Over The Air (OTA) since one would need to download it (in the […]
OnePlus today announced that it’s permanently cutting the price of all of its smartphones, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X will now be available for purchase at discounted rates. All three devices have been available for quite some time now and they’re receiving this price cut as the company gears up to launch its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3.
It was not too long ago that OnePlus began to kick off its soak tests of updating to Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the OnePlus 2 (aka the 2016 flagship killer), hoping that in the soak test, the limited number of users exposed to the Marshmallow build will be able to keep a keen eye out for bugs and the ilk. It looks as though the time for soak tests are […]
Are you looking forward to getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for your OnePlus 2 handset? If you are, you will be pleased to learn that it seems that the soak test for the update is currently underway, at least that’s according to several user reports in which they claim to have been on the receiving end of the test.
It looks like last year’s sequel to the best-selling OnePlus One handset might just see a second wind in terms of sales. After all, what was originally a handset that could be purchased only via an invite system, has now been given a price cut over in the world’s largest democracy – India, and do take careful note that this is a permanent price cut.
