Apple introduced the wireless AirPods earbuds with the iPhone 7 in September this year. While the earbuds were supposed to be released within a few weeks of being announced, the company had to delay the release multiple times due to purported technical issues. Apple finally started selling the AirPods online last week but you still can’t walk into one of its stores and pick one up. That might be possible come December 19th.

According to a new report, Apple is going to announce in-store availability of AirPods on Monday, December 19th. If that’s the case, it would mean that AirPods will become available for purchase in the company’s retail stores two days before online orders starting showing up at customers’ doors.

The report adds that aside from Apple’s own brick-and-mortar stores, AirPods are also going to be available from carrier stores and Apple Authorized Resellers starting Monday, December 19th. Supplies are likely to be constrained and it’s unclear how many units will be assigned per store.

When Apple started selling AirPods online on December 13th, the initial supply sold out very quickly. Shipping times have now been pushed back to over a month. All the more reason to head over to an Apple Store bright and early if the company does start selling the AirPods in its stores tomorrow. They’re likely to sell out soon.
