htc-oceanCome 2017 we expect that HTC will launch a new flagship smartphone. Whether this is the HTC 11 remains to be seen, but last we heard, HTC has a series of devices under the “Ocean” lineup that they are planning to launch. Now thanks to newly leaked rumors from ePrice (via Pocket-Lint), additional details have surfaced.

According to the rumor, one of the handsets will be called the HTC Ocean Note and from what we can tell, sounds like it might be the flagship of the bunch. The report is claiming that the phone will sport a curved display, similar to Samsung’s “Edge” series of phones. As for the size, it seems unclear but we’re apparently looking at anywhere between 5.5-inches to 5.7-inches. There will also apparently be an official screen protector for it as well.

HTC is also expected to take the “courageous” plunge by removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the phone, meaning that the only way to listen to music is either via USB-C or Bluetooth. To make up for the lack of a headphone port, HTC is also rumored to introduce adaptive audio technology that can automatically adjust audio settings based on ambient noise.

Last but not least, HTC is also said to improve the camera dramatically, although color us skeptical given what we’ve seen in the past. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but HTC could be unveiling these devices on the 12th of January at their “For U” event.
