In a post on Reddit (via Attack of the Fanboy) by King_Of_Rad_Lions, it seems that he noticed a discrepancy in how MyNintendo calculates expiration dates for certain rewards. He writes, “Since MyNintendo began, pretty much every reward has expired on the first of a month to make room for new rewards. However, many of the recently added rewards expire in the middle of a month- more specifically, on a random Thursday in March (3/16).”
He also adds, “Since the Switch will likely launch on a Friday, could the fact that most of the rewards cycle out on Thursday the 16th suggest that new Switch centered rewards and the Switch itself will release on the 17th?” While this is purely speculation, we have to say that there is some logic to his reasoning.
Whether or not it will be true remains to be seen. That being said, Nintendo is hosting a special Nintendo Switch presentation on the 12th of January, 2017 where hopefully the official details will be revealed, so check back with us then for more updates.
