google-calendarIt’s the start of the new year and you know what means – plenty of people making resolutions to get fit! If that’s your goal of 2017 as well, then maybe keeping track of those goals might be a good idea, and the good news is that the folks at Google want to help you do that by integrating your fitness tracking goals into Google Calendar.

According to Google, “Starting today, you can connect Google Fit and Apple Health to your fitness goals in Google Calendar. When you do, activity in your favorite fitness apps will be recorded and used to mark your goals in Google Calendar as “done” automatically.” This means that both iOS and Android users who have the Google Calendar app will be able to take advantage of this new feature.

Google also makes adjustments because they know that sometimes you run a little late. “Say you set a goal to run at 6:30 every other morning but aren’t actually hitting your stride until 7:15 — Google Calendar has you covered and will adjust accordingly.” So this means even if you don’t start on time, not to worry as you won’t feel like you missed your goal for the day.

Of course at the end of the day whether or not you successfully achieve your goals comes down to self-discipline and your willpower, but hey, nobody said you couldn’t get a little hi-tech help along the way, right?
