HTC may have stopped rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the HTC 10 in select markets across the globe, there’s good news for those who own the unlocked HTC One A9. It has been confirmed today by HTC executive Mo Versi that the HTC One A9 Nougat update release will start tonight.

The benefit of owning an unlocked smartphone is that the updates for those handsets don’t get held up by mobile carriers. Manufacturers can send them out directly to users when the updates are ready and that’s what’s happening in the case of the One A9.

HTC executive Mo Versi has confirmed via Twitter that the company has received techincal approval on the Nougat OS update for the unlocked HTC One A9. With that crucial step out of the way, Versi confirmed that the over-the-air rollout of this update is going to start tonight.

He didn’t go into too many details about the actual update itself but since it’s Nougat, we can expect all of the new features that Google has introduced with this major platform update as well as additional tweaks that HTC may have made.

The full changelog will become public over the next few hours once the over-the-air update starts hitting unlocked HTC One A9 units.
