Microsoft announced last month that it was teaming up with THQ Nordic to release a special physical version of Halo Wars 2 for PC. This special version was going to be released for North America and Europe. There’s some bad news for Halo Wars fans in North America. Microsoft has confirmed on the official Halo Waypoint forums that the Halo Wars 2 PC physical release is not going to take place in this market.

The Halo Wars 2 PC box set is only going to be released in Europe so if you want one you’ll have to go pick one up or have someone send it to you because Microsoft is not going to release it in North America even though it said it would.

Microsoft says that its retail plans “have shifted” and it has made the decision to focus the release of the physical version to Europe only. Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 PC is going to remain available worldwide as a digital download via the Windows Store.

“We apologize to any customers affected by the change in our retail plans, and thank everyone for the continued support as we look forward to the release of Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on Feb. 21, 2017,” the company adds.

Halo Wars 2 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title and it’s going to be released for Xbox One and Windows 10 on the aforementioned date.
