The much-awaited sequel to the original Halo Wars game is finally out today for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. Microsoft has been hyping up this game over the past few months, it has also showcased limited edition prints, an Xbox One S bundle as well as a launch trailer for this title. The wait ends today for those who have been waiting for it because Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC has finally been released today.

Halo Wars 2 focuses on UNSC leader Captain Cutter who is up against a new faction called The Banished. They’re taking on this new enemy after a “pyrrhic victory” following the events of the original Halo Wars game. Cutter and the crew of UNSC Spirit of Fire wake up after 28 years of cryosleep to find that The Banished lurk in the shadows and threaten humanity.

This is a real-time strategy game with a multiplayer component. Players will require an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play Halo Wars 2 online. It also comes with a new game mode called Blitz which combines tactical combat with card-based strategy. Players build collections of powerful Halo vehicles and troops so that they can command then in fast-action matches online solo or against waves of enemies.

Halo Wars 2 is now available for download from the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 PC and Xbox One. It costs $59.99.
