One of the reasons how the Nintendo Wii set itself apart from the other consoles was the introduction of motion controls. Nintendo carried this concept forward with the Wii U, and they are still holding onto that feature with the Nintendo Switch, and it looks like the upcoming Ultra Street Fighter II will be taking advantage of that.

It has been previously rumored that the upcoming Ultra Street Fighter II would have first-person features, and a recent Capcom TV video has more or less confirmed it. Basically what happens is that players will take the Switch’s JoyCon controllers, one in each hand, and they will mimic gestures that are meant to throw out Hadoukens and other moves, such as Ryu’s uppercut and spin-kicks.

Dubbed “Way of the Hado”, this seems like a mode in the game that players can access to enjoy the first-person experience. Unfortunately from what we can tell in the video, it seems that there are still some kinks that need to be smoothened out. For example some of the moves were interpreted wrongly, and it seems to have a bit if a lag between the player’s actions and what’s happening on screen.

However it is a pretty cool idea and if the idea of a first-person Street Fighter appeals to you, then Ultra Street Fighter II could be worth checking out, and hopefully by then they will have improved upon it. You can check out the demo above which takes place around the 2 hour 57 minute mark.
