You might have heard by now that BlackBerry has licensed its brand to third-party manufacturers who will now build smartphones with its name. TCL will look after manufacturing and sales in most markets across the globe but BlackBerry has given those rights to another company called BB Merah Putih for Indonesia. The first BB handset built by this company has now surfaced online, it may be called BlackBerry Aurora and could be released in the coming days.

Images of the BlackBerry handset built by BB Merah Putih have been floating around recently and now an Indonesian retailer called Elevenia has revealed more information about the handset through a pre-order listing on its website. This handset will be called BlackBerry Aurora and it will be available in gold, silver and black colors.

The listing doesn’t really reveal much about the handset’s specifications but by the looks of it, it’s clear that this is going to be an entry-level device. Rumors suggest that this handset will feature a Snapdragon 425 processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB storage and a 5.5 inch 720p display with a 3,000mAh battery.

Indonesia is one of the last markets where BlackBerry still has considerable brand recognition so it’s certainly going to try and capitalize on that with this entry-level Android smartphone.
