Those who own the original Huawei Watch will be waiting for it to receive the latest iteration of Google’s wearable device platform. The Chinese consumer electronics company has now confirmed that it’s going to release the Huawei Watch Android Wear 2.0 update later this month. The update is most likely going to be released towards the end of this month.

The confirmation that the Huawei Watch Android Wear 2.0 update is going to be released later this month comes from Huawei’s official German Twitter account. While it doesn’t provide a precise release date for the update it does mention that the roll out will begin in late March.

Android Wear 2.0 is going to bring a lot of new features to the original Huawei Watch, such as the ability to install many apps, support for Android Pay, a revamped user interface, customizable watch faces, and more.

What this means is that we should expect the update to land on the original Huawei Watch around the end of this month. Perhaps the company is going to come out with a proper release date in the coming weeks just so that users know precisely when the update is going to arrive.

Huawei unveiled the Huawei Watch 2 late last month at the Mobile World Congress 2017 last month. It’s an improved version compared to the original smartwatch and when it’s released, it will come with Android Wear 2.0 straight out of the box.
