Last year instead of launching the Moto X, Motorola decided to announce a new lineup of smartphones in the form of the Moto Z family. The company has since assured their customers that the Moto X lineup isn’t going anywhere, and we could soon be hearing some kind of announcement.

It seems that thanks to a report out of China (via GSMArena), alleged Motorola presentation slides have leaked online in which it shows off and mentions the 2017 Moto X. Now there is no way to confirm if these slides are the real deal, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen or heard about the Moto X, so it isn’t that revelatory.

However we should point out that the photos of the Moto X in these slides are slightly different in terms of design compared to what we’ve seen in the past. Previous leaks have placed the rear-facing flash unit below the camera lenses, but in the photo above you can clearly see that the flash has been relocated to above the lenses.

Now either the previous photos were based on a prototype, or the recent leak is a fake, or vice versa. Like we said we can’t verify how real these slides are, but hopefully Motorola will have an official answer for us soon.
