Xiaomi is known for creating phones that are relatively affordable, but yet pack decent enough specs where you’ll be able to get by doing most things you would expect on a smartphone. If you’re looking for a new phone, you might be interested to learn that Xiaomi has announced its latest smartphone in the form of the Xiaomi Mi 5X.

Unfortunately if you were hoping for a high-end smartphone, you might be disappointed as it seems that the Mi 5X is a mid-ranger at best. It will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and under the hood we are looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. It will also come with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage, and a 3,080mAh battery.

One of the features of the phone, according to Xiaomi, is its metal housing which apparently comes with an anti-fingerprint coating, which means that unlike the iPhone 8’s jet black finish, this should leave your phone relatively free of blemishes from your fingers. Other than that, the phone will also sport a dual camera system that uses a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens.

The handset will be priced at 1,499 RMB which is roughly $222 after conversion, but given Xiaomi’s launch history, maybe you shouldn’t expect to find this phone stateside anytime soon.
