It has long been reported that Facebook is going to create a dedicated section on its website where it will host all of the original programming that it has been working on. It was later confirmed that this dedicated section will be called Facebook Watch. The company today confirmed that Facebook Watch is now available to everyone in the United States.

Facebook Watch is now live for all Facebook users in the United States on mobile, Facebook TV, and desktop. It’s a separate tab where countless original shows and content sponsored by Facebook and its media partnerships will be properly highlighted.

Facebook Watch provides users with several options to discover video content. This includes a carousel of featured programs and sections called Today’s Spotlight, New This Week, Popular Now, Most Talked About, and What Friends Are Watching. Facebook Watch will also surface suggestions about videos that are relevant the ones that the user has previously watched.

The social network is primarily highlighting reality shows in Facebook Watch at this point int ime as they’re cheap to produce and have their own fan following. However, to truly take the battle to the likes of Netflix and YouTube, Facebook is going to have to invest in a lot of original programming.
