Marvel’s next original TV series has now been released on Netflix. The online streaming giant has been developing this series based on Frank Castle or The Punisher for quite some time now. The character was first seen in the second season of another Netflix-Marvel collaboration, Daredevil. Since the character was well received, it was decided to give The Punisher his very own series.

Netflix released the official trailer for its The Punisher series a couple of months back. Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle while Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Microchip, an ally of the protagonist. Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Page in the Daredevil series, also makes an appearance.

The show’s narrative feels different from what we’ve previously seen in other Netflix-Marvel original series such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and more. The initial reviews have been good. Critics have praised Bernthal’s performance as the vigilante without superpowers Frank Castle. The sharp and conscious storytelling has been appreciated as well.

All 13 episodes of this original series have now been released on Netflix. They’re available for streaming right away. It’s up to the subscribers if they want to binge watch them all in one go or take their time in experiencing the story.
