Sony unveiled a couple of new devices at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 last week but it’s apparently saving a proper flagship handset for the Mobile World Congress 2018 which takes place in Barcelona next month. According to rumors, Sony’s new flagship smartphone is going to be called the Xperia XZ Pro and that it’s going to feature a 5.7 inch OLED display with 4K resolution.

Since it’s said to be a flagship handset, the Xperia XZ Pro may tout Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

On the imaging front it may feature a dual camera made up of an 18 megapixel 1.33μm pixel size sensor and a 12 megapixel 1.38μm pixel size sensor. There may also be a 13 megapixel camera on the front.

Additional features may include 128GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 3,420mAh battery as well as Android 8.0 Oreo. All of this is said to be packaged inside an IP68 dust and water resistant body. Sony is said to offer the Xperia XP Pro in both single-SIM and dual-SIM variants.

Sony is only expected to unveil the Xperia XZ Pro in Barcelona next month. The handset may not be released until June this year. Sony has yet to confirm anything about this device so take the rumors with a grain of salt for now until there’s more information to go on.
