According to the rumors, HTC’s next flagship smartphone is said to be the HTC U12+. Specs of the handset have been floating about for a while now, and for the most part it’s not particularly surprising given that the phone is meant to be a flagship handset. Now thanks to a leaked image of what appears to be the retail box for the phone, those specs can be “confirmed”.

The image was originally uploaded onto cnBeta.com (via PhoneArena) where it reveals that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch QHD+ Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display, a 12MP rear-facing UltraPixel 4 camera with OIS, dual front-facing cameras also with OIS, Edge Sense 2, and will also have IP68 certification when it comes to water and dust resistance.

Other specs include BoomSound, fingerprint scanning for security, support for dual SIMs, and also Qualcomm Quick Charge and wireless charging. Like we said, these specs for the most part are to be expected given that it is a flagship handset. However what’s interesting is the rumor that the HTC U12+ might be HTC’s only flagship for 2018.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but as it stands there is still no firm date on when the HTC U12+ will be announced but hopefully it will be soon.
