The rumors about Samsung’s foldable smartphone just won’t stop. It has been consistently rumored over the past couple of years that Samsung is working on a foldable smartphone and the company recently said that it’s only going to launch this device when it’s sure that it’s more than just a gimmick. While Samsung has dropped no such hints, a new rumor claims that Samsung’s foldable smartphone might actually have three OLED panels.

Samsung is said to have developed a prototype that has three OLED panels measuring 3.5 inches each. Two of those panels are combined to create a 7 inch display when the smartphone is unfolded while the third panel is then placed on the outside where it doubles as an information ticker.

This prototype is said to have an in-folding design but previous rumors have claimed that Samsung is testing both in-folding and out-folding designs for its foldable smartphone and that it hasn’t settled on a final design just yet.

It’s unclear how much of the information in the rumor is accurate as this isn’t the first theory that we’ve heard about Samsung’s foldable smartphone and it certainly won’t be the last. It also remains unclear if the company will launch the handset this year or make fans wait until 2019.
