12/05/2011, Remember HTC’s debut Android tablet, the HTC Flyer? It shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread when most of the tablets from other companies were shipping out Honeycomb tablets. Well for those of you who picked up a HTC Flyer and feel left out from the Honeycomb scene, you’re in luck. HTC has officially announced that the Android Honeycomb update for the tablet has started rolling out today. Unfortunately this update is […]
10/06/2011, A couple of days ago we reported that Best Buy had dropped the price of the HTC Flyer down to $300. It’s unsure as to why Best Buy made that decision, although many are thinking that it’s probably due to how cheap the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet is, and that it seems price is a huge factor on how well a tablet does.
10/04/2011, Last week we reported on rumors that Best Buy may be slashing the price of the HTC Flyer tablet to $300. It was suggested that this would be in response to Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet, which we now know is priced at a rather affordable $199. Well the good news is that it turns out those rumors are true.
09/30/2011, In the wake of HP’s fire sale for the TouchPad, it looks like yet another tablet will be given a price reduction to encourage sales. This time around it’s the HTC Flyer, thanks to the folks over at Best Buy. It has been reported that starting tomorrow, October 1st, Best Buy outlets will be reducing the price of the HTC Flyer from $499 to $299. That’s $200 off, similar to […]
09/06/2011, The HTC Flyer is a pretty decent tablet based on specs alone, more so given that this is HTC’s first Android tablet. The downside is that unfortunately the stylus which is supposed to be optimized (and part of the experience) for the Flyer was initially sold separately and customers had to pay an additional $80 for the experience. It also came with Gingerbread, which is a great platform for smartphones, […]
07/04/2011, We do know that Best Buy has been carrying the 7″ HTC Flyer for a couple of months now, but this time around, something has changed. No, the HTC Flyer did not receive a larger display for you to play Angry Birds or Cut the Rope with, but you will be able to get away with a free Scribe pen in the latest HTC Flyer bundle. Makes me wonder just […]
06/26/2011, While OnLive plans to bring its game streaming service to the HTC Flyer later this year, the company has decided to release an app to curb your itch for it in the meantime. OnLive Viewer, already available on iOS for quite sometime now, turns your HTC Flyer into a display for you to stream live video feeds of other people playing games using the OnLive service. OnLive Viewer is part […]
06/12/2011, T-Mobile USA is all set to offer the HTC Flyer tablet, considering that said device has already arrived at the FCC. This is the GSM version mind you, where it will also go by the moniker PG41120, as the T-Mobile Flyer supports GSM 850 and 1900 bands in addition to T-Mobile USA’s WCDMA IV band. Of course, why do we say T-Mobile? The signs are all there already, so there is […]
06/03/2011, HTC’s first foray into the tablet market has resulted in the HTC Flyer, a relatively smaller device in comparison to the iPad and iPad 2 with the HTC tablet sporting a 7″ display. One of HTC’s main reasons for doing so would be to create a device that is roughly the size and weight of a paperback book, making sure it is a snap to tote around without causing cramps […]
05/20/2011, Now we all know that the HTC Flyer will be making its debut this Sunday at Best Buy outlets nationwide, but some folks who visited the retail outlet today have confirmed that the tablet can actually be purchased today, for a cool $500 (stylus not included – that will set you back an extra $80). For those not in the know, the HTC Flyer is HTC’s debut Android tablet that […]
04/29/2011, The upcoming HTC Flyer tablet might just change the way tablets work what with the stylus functionality that is thrown into the mix, and we also know that said tablet will be a Best Buy exclusive this spring, so it makes perfect sense to see this tablet device hit the FCC’s hallowed halls for inspection – and of course, approval, before it is released to the masses for them to […]
04/24/2011, Just like the T-Mobile G2x (also known as the Optimus 2X) which will be receiving the latest Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread update, the tablet front will see the HTC Flyer receiving its Android 3.0 Honeycomb update shortly after hitting the market – and by that, we mean the May 9th launch. According to HTC’s tweet that happened a couple of days ago, they mentioned that “In case you weren’t aware, […]
04/22/2011, The HTC Flyer that was announced at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year has been one of the more interesting Android tablets that will be arriving this year. The fact that it doesn’t run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) – the version of Android that’s been optimized for tablets, and that it doesn’t sport a dual-core processor has been some of the most talked about points about the device. The other […]
04/12/2011, We suppose that this piece of news sneaked us by, what with all the spotlight being shone on the announcement of the HTC Sensation 4G earlier this morning. Word has it that the HTC Flyer tablet device is set to arrive in Europe this coming May 9th, and the 16GB model still does not come with any official price tag, but we do know that the 3G-enabled model that has […]
