Here we are with more details concerning the Lenovo X130e – it is being prepared to roll out into the […]
11/01/2011, I know, I know, the netbook market is slowly but surely dying – it cannot be helped, as tablets have more or less taken over the world simply because they have gotten better, more affordable and powerful, but does that mean the netbook market is far from finished? Acer does not think so, where $297 will net you an Acer Aspire One Happy 2 which has been touted to be […]
10/24/2011, Early adopters of computers who used those expensive machines for gaming at home would most probably have memories of the name Amiga – and it seems as though the company wants to invoke a little bit of nostalgia by rolling out a netbook which is powered by an Amiga operating system, no less. Touted to cost anywhere from $300 to $500, it will come with the AmigaOS4 operating system, where […]
10/13/2011, Are netbooks relevant? That is certainly a question worth asking, considering the number of tablet devices that have made their way to the market these days, virtually phasing out the netbook. After all, when was the last netbook announcement you read on Ubergizmo? NEC still flies the netbook flag though as they are working on a 7″ version that boasts an OLED touchscreen display that is still under development.
10/10/2011, For those in the market for a netbook, Evolio, a Romanian tablet and GPS maker, has recently outed the Evolio U9, a device which they claim to be the “world’s lightest” notebook with a weight of a mere 980g. However based on its specs, we’re inclined to refer to it more as a netbook rather than a notebook and here’s why.
09/13/2011, Pixel Qi has done some rather impressive work with their sunlight-friendly displays in the past, and said screens have already made their way to the offices of San Diego-based Sol Computers. According to Sol Computers, the company decided to settle on what Pixel Qi had to offer because of the higher rate of visibility. Too bad by throwing these displays into an otherwise mediocre hardware configuration, the price has increased […]
09/07/2011, The HP Pavilion dm1-4010us is an update of the previous model launched at CES 2011, the dm1-3020us. HP categorizes this new 11.6 inch notebook as an Ultraportable, which is different from the new Ultrabook category recently launched by Intel – to be labeled “Ultrabook”, the device should be thinner (0.83” for the dm1-4010us vs. 0.63” for the Toshiba Z830 , 0.58” for the Lenovo U300s and 0.68” for the MacBook […]
08/03/2011, Earlier this year at CES, Compaq unveiled a netbook which will be compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network. It was said to be released during the first half of the year but considering it’s already August it appears that they are late, but you know what they say, better late than never!
07/13/2011, Here’s something you don’t hear every day. We’ve all heard that tablets will eventually replace desktops, notebooks and the like, but what about the end of tablets instead? 07/11/2011, Don’t you just hate it when you have just a little bit more work to go, and with no power outlet in sight, your notebook gives up simply because there is no more battery left to power it? Well, Samsung feels that they have the solution in the form of the Samsung NC215S, but said netbook has been delayed until August later this year. This 10″ netbook is the first […]
06/30/2011, Netbooks are so 2008 – and with the advent of tablets (especially the all-conquering iPad 2), the netbook market has certainly stopped growing at previously giddy rates. Acer is not going to give up on their netbook range anytime soon, having announced the Aspire One Happy 2 netbook which is heading towards the US market, being powered by a dual-core Atom N570 CPU which is a slight upgrade over the […]
06/20/2011, While Samsung’s legal team is busy fending off Apple’s lawsuits, the company has been busy releasing other computers as well. The lightweight computer features a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 matte display, 1GB of RAM, and a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N570 dual-core processor. But what’s special about this netbook is its lid […]
05/11/2011, OK, so we have covered news concerning a voice charging cell phone recently which frankly, does sound quite far fetched. After all, you would need a whole lot of mints to soothe that throat of yours which will most probably end up coarse once you are done with all that shouting. At least what we have here today sounds a whole lot more viable – a solar-powered netbook which might […]
