Apple Patents Activity Sensor
Posted on Jun 11, 09 09:19 PM PDT

Apple looks set to develop an activity sensor which is in some ways similar to the Nike+ iPod sport kit, save for the fact that this latest patent seem geared towards skiers, snowboarders and mountain bikers as it is able to determine factors such as "air time," "speed," and the amount of "power" or energy absorbed whenever one is engaged in these sporting activities. A 41-page patent filing was dated just four months ago, leaving us in anticipation of when the final product will be out (if ever), and how will it look like. Guess iPods will find their way into more and more extreme environments in the near future if Apple has their way.
