Garmin has released its line of BMW Portable Navigation Systems which sound so much better than the nuvi 880 and nuvi 760, save for the fact that these can be fitted with specially-engineered mounts into the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW X3 models. Good to know that there is no hidden wiring and suction cups to worry about. These models will also function with the stated BMWs’ sound system, allowing to mute all entertainment audio for a moment so that the driver is able to hear those navigation commands clearly. The nuvi 880 comes with voice recognition capability, making it easier to drive around without having to lift a finger off the steering wheel. North American purchases will come with Garmin’s FM traffic receiver with FM real-time traffic, MSN Direct’s real-time traffic reports, gas prices and weather, among others.
