PrimeSense offers new way to interact at home

PrimeSense is a versatile and innovative technology that aims to change the way one interacts with modern technology. It is basically a 3D camera that enables other appliances including TVs to ‘see a view of the surrounding area’ simply by scanning a room know who is present at the moment via a combination of shape recognition and thermal imaging. In addition, PrimeSense will also enable one to interact with games using nothing but hand gestures and movements without having to have a dedicated controller on hand – sounds like Project Natal, eh? Looks like technology is slowly but surely skewing towards the whole human body as a controller itself – makes us wonder whether programmers have compensated for such devices to detect rotund bodies well considering the obesity rate in most developed nations.
