Virgin Media has announced that they will be rolling out their 100Mbps broadband service in the UK before the year is over, where this speed is made possible courtesy of its fiber optic network that works in tandem with DOCSIS 3.0 cable access. Apart from that, Coventry will be also priviledged to test its 200Mbps service which is also underway in Kent at the moment. If you want something lesser due to your more anti-BitTorrent lifestyle, then there are always 10Mbps, 20Mbps and 50Mbps services to choose from. To get an idea on how much faster 100Mbps is theoretically, it will cut down the typical music album download time from 1 minute 15 seconds to a mere 5 seconds.
