Mozilla Stops Development For Firefox On Windows Mobile

This is probably a bit of bad news to folks who run Windows Mobile out there. It seems that Mozilla is officially killing the development of its Windows Mobile version of Firefox, which actually shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, considering the fact the Windows Phone 7 Series is a whole new ball game. That being said, the bad news continues, as Mozilla doesn’t plan to come up with a Windows Phone 7 Series offering until Microsoft opens its platform up to native apps, which means that if Microsoft doesn’t come up with a Native Development Kit, there will be no Firefox for Windows Phone 7 Series. Of course, there are alternatives for Firefox on Windows Mobile, most notably, Opera Mini, which should be a lot less troublesome to get running on Windows Mobile than it is on the iPhone.
