Looks like Google doesn’t only have its sights set on the GPS navigation market of the U.S., as Google Maps Navigation, the free turn-by-turn navigation service for Android phones, is now available in the UK too. The build is the same 4.1.1 as that released in the U.S. earlier this month. The best part is, Google Maps Navigation will also work with Android 1.6 devices, so if you’re worried about compatibility, you should be more or less covered, unless you’re still on Android 1.5. With Android 1.6 support, Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 will be able to make use of this navigation feature on its juicy 4-inch display. Will this make you reconsider your purchase of a dedicated GPS device?
