A particularly nasty cell phone virus is making rounds in China, and has apparently affected over a million cell phones. This “MMS Bomber” virus currently affects phones that are powered by Symbian S60 3rd Edition, thus affecting many Samsung and Nokia cell phones. The virus comes disguised as an application, and when installed, will send out URL links to download the virus via MMS to everybody in your phone book, which is both expensive and irritating. The virus also disables the phones system management program, so it’s going to be troublesome to remove. Are mobile viruses going to become more and more rampant over the next few years?
