FCC approves versions of BlackBerry 9100 and 9105

The straight-faced folks over at the FCC have just given their nod of approval for a couple of new BlackBerry devices – we’re talking about the 9100 as well as the 9105 that comes with a numeric keypad, where both of them will feature AWS (Advanced Wireless Service) bands. Basically, this allows carriers like T-Mobile, Wind and Mobilicity to place the BlackBerry Pearl 3G on their product list sometime down the road. Chances are the 9105 will not see action anywhere outside of Europe, although there is always the age old adage – never say never since you can’t read the future.
