Nokia To Be First To Get Approval From China For Its Online Mapping Service

Considering that the new Chinese law that went into effect in June 2010 requires regulatory approval for all online mapping services, Nokia should be pretty happy that it’s slated to be the first company to receive such approval for its online mapping service. According to a representative from the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, Nokia’s application is slated to be approved and will be subject to public opinion before receiving the final approval. Twenty-six companies are currently seeking approval, though surprisingly Google and Microsoft have not submitted an application for their ownpopular mapping services.
