Researchers are always trying to increase the efficiency of solar panels to allow it to generate more energy. Now a small startup company called Genie Lens Technologies has developed a polymer film that can be attached to the surface of solar panels in order to improve its efficiency. The company claims that applying the transparent sticker, dubbed Fusion, to the front of solar panels will help it boost its efficiency by 20 percent. Fusion is really a polymer film embossed with microstructures that bends incoming light, and allows the materials on solar panels to absorb more light and convert more of it into electricity. Tests have proved that the film can increase the power output on an average between 4 to 12.5 percent.
