Rocketfish offers Rocketboost Wireless Card to the masses, goes through FCC

Rocketfish has delivered their Rocketboost Wireless Card to the FCC, and if it passes the tests in place there, consumers will most probably be able to enjoy wireless HD audio streaming between devices via RF pretty soon. The Rocketboost Wireless Card will plug into Rocketboost-enabled devices via a bus which appears to be slightly smaller than a mini PCI-E slot. When attached, the Rocketboost-enabled device will be able to stream audio to other Rocketboost receivers in a snap, for example, allowing a Rocketboost-enabled CD player to wirelessly send audio to Rocketboost-enabled speakers. Rocketfish has plans to license the Rocketboost standard across a variety of devices that rely on digital audio including Blu Ray players. No idea on pricing or availability as at press time, but the word “soon” looks set to play a key factor here.
