lacie 2big

Just how large do you think external hard drives can go, space-wise? Well, we’re looking at the LaCie 2big USB 3.0 which will feature a couple of 3TB hard drives inside, meaning you can now tote around a whopping 6TB of storage space. Not only that, LaCie has also tweaked it to increase its speed up by around 20%, hitting an estimated peak transfer speed of 306MB per second, which is touted to be the fastest ever for a two-bay RAID drive. As for the d2 USB 3.0, it also sees a similar 3TB upgrade albeit carrying a single drive only at a much slower 156MB per second (but relatively fast compared to its competitors). Both drives will play nice with Macs and Windows PCs, but you will need at least Windows Vista or Mac OS X 10.5 to utilize anything more than 2TB of space.
