Apple TV software update 4.1.1 fixes incorrect resolution issue

The Apple TV software update 4.1.1 was recently released (on Tuesday, in fact), where it will target the second generation Apple TV while making sure issues concerning TVs showing off the wrong resolution as well as downloading problems are no longer a thing of the future. This new software update is hot on the heels of the software update 4.1 that came out just a few weeks ago, seeing the addition of AirPlay support while correcting a bunch of performance and connectivity issues. While some users claim that the 4.1.1 update has solved their problems, other users say otherwise, making us wonder just what is the root cause of the problem for units that have yet to be successfully patched. Any other solutions?
