Concept designs can be zany or futuristic, but we think that what will be served at the LA Auto Show design challenge is a mixture of both. Known as the Mazda MX-0, this concept will play with the thought of an efficient, four-passenger vehicle which will do its bit to minimize the environmental impact by consuming as little of the earth’s resources as possible without sacrificing style in the process. The MX-0 is actually a futuristic model of the current MX-5, where numerous components have been replaced with fewer, simplified, multi-functional parts, resulting in a drastic reduction of its weight. Relying on sustainable, inexpensive composites which are matched with clean-running, high-torque electric motors further help its cause. Will take top spot at the design challenge? Only time will tell.
