Sony’s remastered PSP to PS3 games have us very excited. Capcom’s releasing Monster Hunter Portable and Konami is almost a shoe-in for giving Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker the HD treatment, but there’s just one small tiny thing Sony didn’t shout from the rooftops. You know how most PlayStation 3 games award you “Trophies” when you unlock missions and perform other achievements in a game?

All games in the remastered series will not have Trophy support.Sony hasn’t provided any official statement on why there will be no in-game Trophies, but Siliconera speculates that it could be related to PSP piracy. The site says that because the PSP is susceptible to hacking, cheaters could transfer their illegitimately earned game saves over from the PSP to PS3.

That’s a darn shame if piracy is the reason why there will be no Trophies for remastered games. We’ll update this post if Sony releases any official statements regarding this matter.
