Do you love watching birds during your free time, when you have silenced your smartphone and want to remain disconnected from the rest of the world so that you are able to drink in nature’s bounty and goodness visually? Well, if you answered in the affirmative, then having a decent pair of binoculars would go a long way in your hobby. Sony decides to aid you with the Digital Recording Binoculars which allows you to capture Full HD video, while those who prefer to capture stills can do so in 7.1-megapixel glory.

The Sony Digital Recording Binoculars will come in DEV-3 and DEV-5 models, where they will retail for $1,399 and $1,999, respectively. You will find a couple of Exmor R CMOS sensors that pave the way for native 3D video capture – allowing you to make your own delectable documentary in your spare time. Not only that, with dual f/1.8-3.4, 0.5-10x optical zoom lenses and a pair of 1,227-dot viewfinders, you will find that these are high-end models that should not disappoint.

The DEV-5 has another advantage over the DEV-3 – it sports built-in GPS capability, so that you know just where you shot that particular image to the dot on a map. They’re ready to hit the market later this November, giving you a couple more months or so to save up. [Press Release]
