Nokia offers $10,000 to create their next ringtone

Nokia seems to be reaching out to their customers through the internet these days. We recently reported that Nokia was getting customer feedback on what they should name their next Windows Phone 7 handset, and now it looks like Nokia is offering up $10,000 to whoever can come up with their next signature ringtone.

Nokia has a very unique ringtone that they have been using through the years, with each evolving but yet somehow maintaining the hook and melody that people have come to associate with Nokia. Now Nokia wants someone to come up with their next ringtone which apparently cannot stray too far from the original, while sounding updated and hip to match their new image.

Granted $10,000 isn’t a lot when you think about how much you could make in royalty, but it’s a chance to go down in history, so why not give it a shot?
