[MWC 2012] Samsung has teamed up with Japanese car manufacturer Toyota to deliver the Samsung Car Mode Application, which is basically an in-car solution that will seamlessly connect Samsung’s family of smartphones to Toyota’s In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system. This solution will involve the development of integrated mobile services connecting between Smartphone and IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) system via MirrorLink, as well as safety in-car UX (User Experience), music, location, and enhanced features including hands-free call, voice interaction, and text-to-speech being demonstrated if you happen to drop by Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that is happening as you read this.

Driving will be come safer than ever before, but despite all the technology that is thrown behind the wheel and underneath the hood, I am a firm believer that there is no way to have a 100% safe vehicle, as long as the main factor behind accidents – the driver, is human. Commercialization of the Car Mode Application will kick start sometime in Q2 this year.
