Fans of Valve’s Team Fortress 2 can expect something exciting from the company in 2012. Apart from Valve’s upcoming DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and according to the Team Fortress 2 blog, it seems that the company has a “secret” Team Fortress 2 project planned for the year 2012 as well. While we’re not sure 100% sure what they have up their sleeves, this is what they have decided to tease us with:

“The TF2 team is working on something brand new for 2012. We can’t tell you what it is, because they won’t tell us, but what they WILL say is that it isn’t a hat, it isn’t a map, and go away. From this we can only conclude that the TF2 team is working on some ungodly hat-map hybrid that you can wear on your head while you run around in it. You heard it here first. Also last, because they just told us it’s not that either. But it’s really cool.”

Unfortunately it does not really tell us much about what to expect, but Valve has put out some pretty fun and interesting Team Fortress 2 updates in the past, so here’s hoping their “secret” project doesn’t disappoint.
