Most smartphone concepts seem to revolve around either iOS or Android devices, not surprisingly considering the popularity of both mobile platforms. However in an interesting twist, designer John Anastasiadis has decided to give some love to Blackberry phones with the Wrap-around BB concept.

Blackberry phones were designed for the professional in mind, so in a way it’s interesting to see a novel feature such as a wrap-around screen make its way onto a supposed “professional” device. According to its designer:

“The front and back cameras are positioned underneath the screens. When needed the area around the camera lens becomes transparent. The wrap around screen can allow for separate workspaces and/or a more three-dimensional interaction with the device. Obvious benefits apply to business, entertainment and navigation applications.”

Foldable/bendable OLED displays already exist, so in a way it’s not really a stretch of the imagination to think that eventually such a phone could be made a reality, although we have to wonder if RIM will pick up on the design. What do you guys think?
