I am not quite sure about you, but surely having a “pet” robot at home is always a cool thing. You do not need to clean up after it unlike furkids like cats and dogs, and there is no need to spay or neuter a robot, either. I guess this is why the idea of TJ* is so appealing, where this conceptual robot comes with an extremely expressive head. Measuring roughly 60% the size of an actual adult human head, the TJ* will feature a trio of user-controlled micro servos which are more than capable of moving its eyeballs up and down, left and right, in addition to delivering mouth movement by opening and closing it. TJ* will feature an open-source controller that is based around the Arduino microprocessor, where a joystick and a quartet of buttons on the controller will allow you to control the robot’s facial features in real time. Something tells me that if this actually kicks off in a big way, we could be looking at robotic actors that are puppeted by humans in real time, now that would surely be a novelty on the silver screen! Would you like to see this Kickstarter project take flight?
