Eufy Enters Autonomous Lawn Care With S2 Max Robotic Mower

During IFA 2026, Eufy has officially revealed the S2 Max Robot Lawn Mower, representing the brand’s first outdoor robotic mower designed and engineered entirely in-house. Developed to introduce advanced autonomous robotics and high-level artificial intelligence into residential and commercial lawn maintenance, the machine eliminates traditional physical installation constraints while delivering substantial yard coverage.  

Engineered for large properties, the S2 Max is capable of mapping and maintaining lawns of up to 15,000 square meters (approximately 3.7 acres). Departing from older outdoor robotic designs that rely on perimeter boundary wires or external RTK base station antennas, the system utilizes vision-based SLAM technology (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). As the unit navigates across open turf, it constructs a real-time 3D map of the environment and localizes itself dynamically without requiring supplemental hardware installations.  

At the center of its navigation architecture is an industry-leading 48 TOPS of onboard computing power. Rather than utilizing processing simply for wheel control and motor management, this high compute capacity is dedicated to real-time visual perception, situational decision-making, advanced object recognition, and immediate obstacle avoidance across dynamic environments.  

Mechanical and terrain-handling capabilities include: 

• Edge-to-edge cutting system: Equipped with an extendable trimming arm engineered to trim closely against borders, fences, and walls, reaching areas commonly missed by standard mower decks.  

• All-wheel drive traction: An integrated AWD powertrain ensures steady movement over uneven, wet, or muddy ground.  
• Slope performance: The drive architecture enables the mower to tackle steep inclines of up to 80% slope (38 degrees) without losing traction. 

Through the combination of computer vision, high processing power, and robust mechanical traction, Eufy positions the mower as an autonomous outdoor platform capable of managing demanding landscapes independently.  

The Eufy S2 Max Robot Lawn Mower is scheduled to release in the European market in May 2027. Official launch timing and retail pricing for the United States have not yet been determined.
