Diablo 3’s patch 1.0.4 has been rumored to be released sometime tomorrow, but until the sun sets by then and the electronic calendar turns to 8/22, we will not know for sure. What we are sure of is this – Blizzard has just announced the Paragon System for Diablo 3 in an attempt to shore up their gamer base which will introduce 100 more character levels to keep you clicking (and hardware companies who roll out gaming mice happy) for longer than ever before. Read more about how the Paragon System works right after the jump.

One of the two niggling issues that bugged the team at Blizzard was this – how do you keep Level 60 players who are not happy with the item hunt satisfied? Well, the Paragon system was specially designed for that, and when it comes with patch 1.0.4, it will address the Magic Find gear-swapping issue, especially those who have reached level 60 by providing an extended progression system. Whatever experience you earn from killing monsters when you are Level 60 will contribute towards your Paragon level – all 100 of them, and each Paragon level will reward your labor with an increase in core stats such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality, in addition to 3% Magic Find and 3% Gold Find.

Not only that, there is an ever more impressive border that surrounds your character portrait in the in-game party frame to show off to the world your Paragon progression, where each 10 levels will earn you a new frame. Are you looking forward to patch 1.0.4 already? [Press Release]
