If you have cracked one of your smartphone’s screens in the past because you were were too clumsy, then surely you did mull over the possibility of picking up a new smartphone that was more rugged in nature. I guess the same can be said for other pieces of consumer electronics, case in point – the Toshiba Camileo BW20 camcorder.

The Toshiba Camileo BW20 is effectively waterproof up to 16 feet underwater, is resistant to dust and shockproof (which means it can withstand accidental drops of up to five feet). While not the toughest device in the world, at least it is far more rugged to your regular camcorder without sacrificing on form and functionality. Capable of producing brilliant Full HD 1080p videos and photos even under the most adverse conditions, The Camileo BW20 will feature an f/2.2 aperture lens, a 5-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, video image stabilization, an HDMI output port, and a rather useful floating wrist strap that makes sure your Camileo BW20 does not sleep with the fishes permanently.

Those who are interested will be able to pick up the Toshiba Camileo BW20 camcorder for $129.99 a pop, and it does seem to come in only one color combination – red and black. Something brighter all around might serve it better so that you can spot it even when underwater.
